"Synchronize inventory versions" fails on SDDC manager

Issue/Introduction

While trying to synchronize inventory versions on SDDC manager, it fails with error "Unable to fetch VxRail Manager version for hostname <VxRail Manager> and user [email protected] to complete inventory sync"

/var/log/vmware/vcf/operationsmanager/operationsmanager.log shows below errors :

Received response with status 404: GET . . . for request with host: <VxRail Manager>, port: 443, isSecure: true, path: /rest/vxm/v1/system, queryParamMap: null, headers: {Accept=application/json, Content=application/json}

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 5.x

Cause

This issue happens if API /rest/vxm/v1/system on VxRail Manager does not respond with the system information details to SDDC Manager and returns 404 Not Found
