VNA AppNeta 429 Rate Limit Errors

Issue/Introduction

AppNeta plugin is not able to retrieve data due to rate limiting errors:

opt/CA/VNA/wildfly/standalone/log/oc.log

java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 429 for <AppNeta URL> 

Cause

• 429 Error code indicates rate limit exceeded.

Resolution

• Each AppNeta token is associated with an account.
• Rate limiting is cumulative across all tokens associated with the same account.
• Make sure you are not using too many tokens linked to one individual user.
• If the same user is issuing tokens to be used across many sites this increases the chances for rate limiting to occur.
