Invalid Protocol Message reported in WA Agent

Issue/Introduction

The agent logs report this error:

05/22/2025 11:58:44.263-0400 1 main.MainThread.CybCommunicationManager.a[:561] - Invalid protocol revision 'null' specified for managerID = WLA_NONPROD1. Using default of 2

Environment

Workload Agent 12.1 or below

Cause

The WA agent is being replaced by an older agent version or users may have mixed agent versions in a cluster.

Resolution

The reported error message is usually observed when you have mixed agent versions in a cluster.  The agents use an internal protocol with manager and they can be different based agent versions.  If you have agent in a cluster make sure all agents are on same exact versions.
