HCX 4.11 Upgrade Bundle Location with AVS cloud deployment

Issue/Introduction

Microsoft is updating the AVS HCX-MGR instance and the 4.11 HCX-MGR Connector upgrade bundle is required. 

Environment

HCX-MGR deployment in AVS.

Cause

• Due to the entitlements being held by AVS, the Broadcom user account does not have the correct entitlements to access the upgrade bundle from support.broadcom.com .
• Starting in HCX 4.9.x, the update procedure has changed based on the HCX-MGR "activation mode" used. For more information on HCX Activation Modes. Please see Activating New HCX Systems.
• Systems set to "Local" mode will be upgraded via the "9443" page : Upgrade HCX Manager for Local Sites.
• Systems set to "Connected" mode will be upgraded via the HCX "system updates" tab. Upgrading the HCX Manager for Connected Sites
• Sites running in Local Mode receive no update notifications or download information from VMware. Planning for HCX Updates.

 

Resolution

When HCX-MGR is deployed via AVS the subsequent upgrade bundles must be provided by the AVS team. Please reference the below article from Microsoft.
