Error: "L2 VPN View and/or Configure rights are not enabled for the administrator of Organization '######' in Cloud Director" while configuring L2 stretch in VMware Cloud Director Availability

Issue/Introduction

When configuring L2 stretch in VMware Cloud Director Availability you will see the below error,

L2 VPN View and/or Configure rights are not enabled for the administrator of Organization '######' in Cloud Director

Environment

VMware Cloud Director Availability 4.7.x

VMware Cloud Director 10.6.x

Cause

This issue occurs when the user does not have the "L2 VPN Configure" role assigned.

Resolution

To resolve this issue.

1. Login to the VMware Cloud Director Provider portal.
2. Click Administration, under Tenant access control select Global Roles.
3. Edit the Global role which the user is mapped
4. Expand Edge Gateway Services select "L2 VPN Configure" in view and manage and then save.
5. Publish this global role to tenant.
