Error: "Connection Error" while connecting to a VM remote console (VMRC) through a WAF

Issue/Introduction

• The remote console (VMRC) for a virtual machine managed is failing to connect, displaying a "Connection error" message. However, the web console functions as expected.
• The web console works without issues.
•  A web application firewall (WAF) is configured for the Cloud Director public address.
• When accessing from an internal VM and pointing directly to the private IP of the Cloud Director instance, the VMRC console functions correctly.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.6.x

Cause

The WAF was actively blocking VMRC traffic, which prevented successful remote console connections via VMRC while allowing web console access.

Resolution

Review and update WAF rules to allow VMRC traffic, ensuring that it is not blocked.
