Output Management Web Viewer

Issue/Introduction

Our Endpoint Protection team is updating the local McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator on our Web Viewer 12.1 servers to permit / deny traffic.
The question came up if Web Viewer communicates on port 138 (NetBIOS Datagram services).

Please advise it this port is involved in the communication between the Web Viewer application and its hosting OS, or the hosting OS and mainframe LPARs?

Resolution

The only TCP/IP port that Web Viewer 12.0 uses is basically the one configured by Tomcat as a Connector (e.g. 8080 or 443).
The only other port is the ephemeral port that is connected to CCI which listens on port 1202 on the mainframe. By definition, any ephemeral port must be above 1024.
