Issue/Introduction

After upgrading Aria Automation and the ITSM plugin to 8.18.1, catalog items are missing drop down values.

You may see errors similar to these in ServiceNow:

VMware Aria Automation Plugin is unable to connect resulting in Http request timeout:(EndpointRegister.generateApiToken):https://aria_automation_server.example.com/csp/gateway/am/api/login?access_token

Error:VMware Aria Automation Plugin [ERROR] x_vmw_cloudservice (CASLogger): REST call error found inside CatalogImport.multipleRequestDropdownValues: Method failed: (/form-service/api/forms/renderer/external-values) with code: 403 - Forbidden username/password comboStatus code:403

Aria Automation ITSM Plugin 8.18.1

Resolution

To resolve this, please verify that the Aria Automation endpoint configured and the plugin is successfully registered. 

  1. Navigate to the "Manage Endpoints" section
  2. Click on the "Validate & Save" button

    Then perform a full sync in ServiceNow. Run the scheduled jobs: 
       
  3. In the left pane, click VMware Aria Automation >Job Schedules.
  4. Run the Import Project first then run the Import Catalog scheduled job.
  5. Run the Import Resources and CMDB scheduled job.

         Note: The scheduled jobs must be run in this order. Failure to follow this order can cause the data corruption or loss. See Configure and Run Import Jobs for more information.
