Error "Invalid Credentials" When Adding Aria Operations for Logs for Metering in Usage Meter

Issue/Introduction

When attempting to add Aria Operations for Logs for metering in VMware vCloud Usage Meter, the connection test completes successfully. However, a short while later, an "Invalid Credentials" error is reported.

Environment

VMware vCloud Usage Meter 4.8

Cause

 Aria Operations for logs is not supported for metering in Usage Meter. 

Resolution

In VMware vCloud Usage Meter 4.8, a variety of VMware products are supported for metering, including:

• vCenter Server

• VMware Cloud Foundation

• Site Recovery Manager

• Tanzu Kubernetes Grid Management Clusters

• VMware Cloud Director

• VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle

• VMware Aria Operations

• VMware Aria Automation

• NSX Data Center for vSphere

• NSX-T Data Center

• Aria Operations for Networks

• NSX Advanced Load Balancer

• VMware Cloud Director Availability

However, Aria Operations for Logs is not among the supported products and therefore cannot be metered using Usage Meter. This results in the "Invalid Credentials" error when attempting to add it.
