Issue/Introduction

Post upgrading the NSX Manager from 3.1.x to 3.2.x "vSphere Clusters Prepared for NSX " for inventory capacity dashboard shows that it is over with threshold (140%). This is generating an alert in the NSX Manager.

Environment

VMware NSX-T Data Center 3.2.3.2
VMware NSX-T Data Center 3.1.0

Cause

The Capacity dashboard is now aware of the deployment size of the NSX Manager for some capacity limits and may generate alarms when over the recommended capacity after upgrading to NSX-T 3.2. For a 'Medium' size NSX Manager deployment on version 3.2.x, the supported number of vSphere Clusters prepared for NSX is 5. However, for NSX 3.1.x this value was 128.

Resolution

Resizing the NSX Manager is the recommended approach to address the alert. This operation can be performed online; however, NSX-T requires at least two NSX Managers to be available at all times during the process. If a cluster Virtual IP (VIP) is configured, please note that there may be a brief disruption when the VIP fails over to another node in the cluster
