NSX event based alerts are not triggering in Aria Operations

Issue/Introduction

• NSX event based alerts are not generated though the symptoms are triggered for the alert to generate 
• Example of event based alert for NSX is:
  • BGP neighbor down 
• NSX adapter collection State and Collections status shows collecting 

Environment

Aria Operations 8.x

Cause

• Aria Operations does not import all NSX-T-generated alerts by default

• To centralize NSX-T alerts within Aria Operations, an explicit configuration is required to enable their import

Resolution

To import all NSX-T alerts into Aria Operations:

 

• For 8.18.x versions

  1. Log in to Aria Operations.

  2. Navigate to Administration > Integrations > NSX.

  3. Edit the NSX-T Cloud Account.

  4. Locate the "Import Alerts from NSX" field.

  5. Set the value of "Import Alerts from NSX" to True.

  6. Save the changes.

 

• For versions prior to 8.18.x

  1. Log in to Aria Operations.

  2. Navigate to Data Sources > Integrations > NSX.

  3. Edit the NSX-T Cloud Account.

  4. Locate the "Import Alerts from NSX" field.

  5. Set the value of "Import Alerts from NSX" to True.

  6. Save the changes.
