O365 (Office 365) endpoint went to offline state

Issue/Introduction

O365 (Office 365) endpoint went to offline state, tasks related to Office 365 are failing or show partially completed state.

User synchronization if failing if Office 365 endpoint is involved.

If you try to connect from cmd you will see error as such:

Connect-MsolService : Access Denied. You do not have permissions to call this cmdlet.

You are able to login to Office 365 tenant with same username and credentials.

Environment

Identity Manager 14.X

Cause

The Office 365 connector relies on the MSOnline PowerShell module to handle identity provisioning and resource management within the Microsoft 365 endpoint.

As Microsoft is disabling access for this module to Office 365 tenants, Office 365 endpoint will go offline.

Resolution

Connector needs to be migrated to Azure connector as described here.

Make sure if you are using Exchange to enable Exchange MFA as per Create Azure connector.
