Renaming Organization VDC using CSE

Issue/Introduction

• Renaming one Organization VDC (Org VDC) that uses VMware Cloud Director Container Service Extension (CSE) and has Tanzu cluster deployed via CSE.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.6
VMware Cloud Director Container Service Extension 4.x

Cause

Renaming the Organization VDC that use CSE it is NOT supported due to UI issue when querying the Org VDC after it has been renamed.

Resolution

This is an unsupported action.

Additional Information

If the Org VDC name was already changed and cluster operations such as cluster resize is failing, it is need to revert back the Org VDC name to original name.

It is not recommended to update CSE cluster RDE (modify Org VDC name) using the API as it might corrupt CSE cluster RDE.
