Issue/Introduction

1. VM replications stop abruptly and change their status to Error(RPO Violation)

2. VMs under replication tab display replication error - No host can be used to access datastore path '[Datastore-Name] VM-Name/hbrdisk.RDID-####14ca-####-4318-####-b1e209e0####.484719.205573718623719.vmdk'.

Environment

VMware vCenter Server
vSphere Replication
VMware ESXi 

Cause

The vSphere Replication version is not compatible with the VMware ESXi version, causing the VMs to stop replicating. 

Resolution

Check the interoperability between the products mentioned below and upgrade the appliance to your desired version to fix this issue. 

1. VMware vCenter Server & vSphere Replication 

2. VMware ESXi & vSphere Replication 

You may have to reconfigure the replications after upgrading the Replication appliance for the replications to resume.
