Issue/Introduction
Network connectivity was disrupted on the vCenter VM after completing a compute vMotion
Pinging the vCenter from the ESXi host returned the error: 'sendto() failed (host is down)', indicating a potential network connectivity issue.

Environment
vCenter server 7.x
vCenter server 8.x
Cause
The destination ESXi host was not assigned with correct VLAN ID.
Resolution
- Log in to host client where the vCenter VM resides
- Navigate to networking ---> Edit the VLAN ID to match the source ESXI for the port group
- vCenter VM is accessible over network
