Issue/Introduction

  • A red banner alert appears on the Cluster Summary Tab indicating that the cluster is on an unhealthy state due to unavailability of vSphere Cluster Service VMs (vCLS).

  • vSphere Cluster Service VMs (vCLS) are not been deployed in the cluster.

  • ESX Agent Manager (EAM) logs indicate that the service is not able to authenticate to vCenter:

    /var/log/vmware/eam/eam.log

yyyy-mm-ddThh:mm:ss.hhh | ERROR | eam-0 | VcConnection.java | 179 | Failed to login to vCenter as extension. vCenter has probably not loaded the EAM extension.xml yet.: Cannot complete login due to an incorrect user name or password.
