'localhost' is NOT Available with the iis probe

Issue/Introduction

Error:

'localhost' is NOT Available

When monitoring http://localhost with the iis probe.

Error in web browser at same path:

HTTP Error 403.14 - Forbidden
The Web server is configured to not list the contents of this directory.

Most likely causes:
A default document is not configured for the requested URL, and directory browsing is not enabled on the server.

Cause

The underlying path specified in the configuration does not have a default page to pull. This can also happen if there is no way to pull the respective page, such as the application pool that owns the page is unavailable to service the page.

Resolution

Specify a full path that will be able to display a landing page, thus returning a 200 back to the iis probe:
