Resolving synchronization issues after manual NSX-T Edge Node Deployment from the NSX Manager

Issue/Introduction

• A new Edge node was added to the cluster to replace a corrupted one.
• The replacement node was deployed using NSX Manager instead of following the SDDC Manager workflow, resulting in a synchronization issue between NSX Manager and SDDC Manager.

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 5.x

Cause

• The Edge VM was deployed outside of the SDDC Manager lifecycle management, leading to a sync issue.
• Deploying Edge nodes outside of the SDDC Manager is not supported, as it introduces inventory inconsistencies and breaks SDDC Manager’s internal tracking and lifecycle processes.

Resolution

The fix involves modifying tables in the platform database on the SDDC Manager.
