Issue/Introduction

SYSPLEX environment with multiple systems, running SAREAS as PRIMARY on one system and all other systems running SAREAS as SECONDARY. 

Where SAREAS is running as SECONDARY server seeing the following errors in the SAREAS task :-  

SAREAS SAREA17W XCF QUERY request failed for SAREAS (SAREAS/SYSID), return=00000008, reason=00000010

Cause

A return code of 8 and a reason code of 10 in the message SAREAS SAREA17W XCF QUERY request failed for SAREAS (SAREAS/SYSID), return=00000008, reason=00000010 typically occurs where there is NO SAREAS PRIMARY task active in the environment 

In this instance the SAREAS PRIMARY task had failed to start  

Resolution

Ensure you have at least one  SAREAS PRIMARY task active in the environment
