Issue/Introduction

Product management's roadmap includes the eventual deprecation of all database platforms except for PostgreSQL.  The includes deprecating Oracle, MS SQL, and MySQL.  This decision is to reduce the amount of SQL schemas and upgrade paths and to focus on a single platform to improve quality.

Resolution

While it is still possible to upgrade versions of ConnectALL and maintain the currently utilized database platform, some issues may be encountered if reinstalling ConnectALL to a new server since you cannot select anything aside from PostgreSQL during a new install.  If this happens, please open a support ticket as it is possible to install.

If you are installing a new ConnectALL application server and a new database server, then the preferred path is to install to PostgreSQL.

ConnectALL development is in the process of creating migration tools that will aid in moving off of other database platforms on to PostgreSQL and more information will be shared as that effort matures.
