OI universe is selection of services and service is a set of vertices. Filtering metric tree by OI universe means showing all metrics that belong to vertices that are part of services in the universe. So you do not see metrics that belong to vertices that are not part of any service in the universe and you also do not see any metrics that do not belong to any vertex.
There are many metrics that do not belong to any vertex, e.g. calculated metric (differential analysis calculators), aggregated metrics from subtrees etc. These metrics do not belong to any vertex, there is no component (vertex) in APPLICATION or INFRA layer that would represent the aggregated vertex or DA calculator etc.
Updating the SaaS Management Module > APM OI metric grouping with .* will not help, there is no vertex in topology that would represent these metrics.
IMPORTANT: Metric-vertex association is defined by rules given by the agents. Some metrics does not match any rule.
APM universe has a different approach. You are selecting whole agents so all metrics that are under the agent are part of the universe. APM universes allow you to pick up all metrics.
It is not a defect. It is an OI current limitation but it will improve in the future.
