Issue/Introduction

Is it possible to provide read-only access to dashboard only in a folder ?

Is it possible to provide read-only access to particular chosen dashboard panels ?

Resolution

1. Yes its possible to provide read-only access to dashboard only in a folder 

      An Access Control List (ACL) model is used to limit access to the dashboard folders.

      A user can be assigned permissions to a folder or to a single dashboard. For more information, see the Folder Permissions section.

 

     If a user has editor access and the admin wants to grant only viewer access, the admin must first remove the existing edit access

     before adding view access to that user since higher access takes precedence.

 

     Also granting permission at the folder level automatically applies to all dashboards in that folder,however

     Admin can modify permissions at the dashboard level.

       Permissions are only supported at dashboard and folder level and not at the dashbaord panel level
