Issue/Introduction

The following Infrastructure Validations show Failed status when choosing to deploy a greenfield Aria Operations for Logs environment after filling out and selecting all of the correct variables and running the pre-check:

  • Existence check for a cluster in the given vCenter and data center.
  • Existence check for datastore in the given vCenter, data center and cluster.
  • Existence check for network in the given vCenter, data center and cluster.

Along with the following Warning status:

  • Admin role permission check for the cluster in the given vCenter and datacenter.

Environment

Aria Suite Lifecycle Manager 8.18.x
Aria Operations for Logs 8.x

Cause

This can be caused by the inventory not being synced between the vCenter and Aria Suite Lifecycle Manager.

Resolution

  1. Run a Sync task on the desired vCenter.
  2. Remove the failed environment deployment.
  3. Retry the deployment.

Additional Information

The desired data center may have been renamed since the last Aria Suite Lifecycle Manager inventory sync to the desired vCenter, pay attention to the Component / Resource column and compare it to the actual names in the vCenter inventory.  To confirm if the inventory sync is a good step: it does not show the same name in the Component / Resources column as currently in vCenter, even though it lets you select the correct data center in the previous steps.
