Issue/Introduction

You have an ESXi host that reboots in the middle of normal operation. The logs do not appear to show any errors just a gap in the logs between the host going down and coming back online, and no core files were generated.

Resolution

This is likely caused by hardware side intervention due to failure/condition outside of ESXi visibility. Systems like VXRail have management agents will perform reboots if anomalies are detected. You should check the iDRAC/iLO/SE logs for events corresponding to the reboot. Where found the recommendation is to engage the hardware vendor to perform diagnostics to determine why the reset was initiated.
