How to validate the RAID Configuration of ESXi Host?

• Unable to view the RAID configuration of the ESXi host in the vSphere Client.

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 7.0.x

VMware vSphere ESXi 8.0.x

 

Resolution

ESXi does not manage RAID directly; it relies on the RAID configuration set at the hardware RAID controller level.

To validate RAID configuration, use the server vendor's RAID management tools (e.g., Dell iDRAC, HPE iLO, Lenovo XCC). These tools provide details on RAID levels, disk health, and logical drive status.
