[YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM:SS] com.integrien.adapter.vmware.VMwareAdapter.enableDisabledPerfCounters - Failed to enable disabled performance counters, some performance counters (internal and gpu related) may not be collected. com.vmware.vim.binding.vim.fault.NoPermission: Permission to perform this operation was denied. at jdk.internal.reflect.NativeConstructorAccessorImpl.newInstance0(Native Method) ~[?:?] at jdk.internal.reflect.NativeConstructorAccessorImpl.newInstance(Unknown Source)

Environment

VMware Aria Operations 8.X

Cause

Issue is around no privilege set for modifying the counter stats for the accounts used to monitor VC - post adding the privilege Performance > Modify intervals

Stats are enabled from Ops on VC and metrics started flowing in well

Resolution

The vCenter Adapter instance monitors and collects data from vCenter Server and the vCenter Action adapter performs some actions in vCenter Server. So, for monitoring or collecting vCenter Server inventory and their metrics and properties, the vCenter Adapter instance needs credentials with the following privileges activated in vCenter Server.

Modified parameter: Performance > Modify intervals System > Read
