Alert "A certificate is about to expire" seen for NSX Adapter in Aria Operations

Issue/Introduction

• Aria Operations is displaying alerts indicating that NSX certificates are about to expire, even if some NSX certificates have been renewed and imported in Aria Operations

Environment

• Aria Operations 8.18.x

• Aria Operations 8.x

Cause

• The alerts are triggered because Aria Operations' truststore contains either unrenewed NSX certificates or older certificates (even if the corresponding NSX Manager has a new, valid certificate in Aria Operations)

• Aria Operations flags certificates based on their stored expiry dates.

Resolution

• Identify and Remove Stale Certificates:

  • For 8.18.x versions, navigate to Administration > Control Panel > Trusted Certificates in Aria Operations

  • For versions prior to 8.18.x, navigate to Administration > Certificates in Aria Operations

  • Identify and delete any older or duplicate NSX certificates for environments that have already had their certificates renewed

 

• Renew Expiring Certificates:

  • For NSX environments with expiring certificates, proceed with the certificate renewal process on the NSX Manager

 

• Re-validate Integration in Aria Operations:

  • After renewing certificates on the NSX Manager, go to Administration > Integrations > NSX > Edit in 8.18.x versions and go to Data Sources > Integrations > NSX > Edit in versions prior to 8.18.x

  • For the affected NSX account(s), re-validate the connection to import the latest certificates into Aria Operations
