Issue/Introduction

• While patching the ESXI host, it went down and did not boot, and failed with the error " Booting Embedded LOM 1 Port 1 : HPE Ethernet 1Gb 4-port 331i Adapter - NIC (HTTP(S) IPv4)"
  
  

Environment

• VMware vSphere 7.0.x

Cause

1. Server is attempting a network (PXE) boot using HTTP/HTTPS, which is often seen when:

   1. No bootable device (local disk, ISO, etc.) is found.

   2. The system is incorrectly configured to prioritize network boot.

Resolution

• Reach out to the Hardware vendor
• Ensure the local disk (or USB/virtual ISO) is the first boot device.
• Move PXE/network boot further down the order.
