Retrieve EC2 Rightsizing Recommendations Based on Actual Cost or List Price cost type

Issue/Introduction

Customers can retrieve EC2 rightsizing recommendations using the Rightsizing API. Depending on whether you want Actual Cost or List Price based recommendations, you need to include the appropriate fields in your API query.

Resolution

1. For Cost-Based Recommendations, include the following fields:

• currentCost – The current monthly cost of the instance

• projectedCost – The projected monthly cost if the recommended instance is used

• projectedSavingsByCost – The potential savings in cost

2. For List-Price Recommendations, include the following fields:

• currentMonthlyPrice – The current monthly price of the instance at list rate

• projectedMonthlyPrice – The projected monthly price of the recommended instance at list rate

• projectedMonthlySavings – The potential savings based on list price
