Issue/Introduction

Following the upgrade to Usage Meter 9.0, the NSX-T connection status is displaying a "collection error".

Error in the Product Notification: Collection error (NSX-T collection failed in GatewayConfigDetector for server #)

The NSX-T collector exceeding its maximum runtime:

Collector of type NSX-T is running for more than 180 minutes.The collector was cancelled.

opt/vmware/cloudusagemetering/platform/logs/dss_error.log shows the below entry:

Caused by: com.vmware.um.collector.UnexpectedResponseCode: API endpoint policy/xxxxx/state on server xx returned HTTP status 500.

Environment

VCF usage meter 9.0
NSX 4.x

Cause

The issue is caused by limitations in earlier versions of VMware Usage Meter, where the NSX-T collection module relies on deprecated NSX-T APIs, leading to delayed API responses and collection timeouts.

Resolution

Install VCF Usage Meter 9.0.1.0 as an in-place upgrade to resolve the issue, follow the below document.
