Key Results Lose Displayed Decimals When Working With Actual/Target Values

Issue/Introduction

After adding a new Actual Value for an Objective's Key Result, displayed decimals for the Start Value, Current Value, Target Value disappear.
Actual Values and Target Values inside the Details flyout never show decimals in the grid (unless the value is being edited).

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Create a new Objective.
2. Navigate to the Key Results module and ensure that the View Options have the Decimal Display set to 2 decimals.
3. Create a new KR with the following values: Start Value: 1.25 / Current Value: 2.25 / Target Value: 3.25. Values displayed have two decimals.
4. Open the Details flyout and navigate to the Actual Value module.
5. Create a new Actual Value. Set a date (today), and a value of 2.75.

Expected Results: Key Results Current Value gets updated to 2.75. The Actual Value in the grid (inside the flyout) also displays 2.75.

Actual Results: Current Value gets updated, but all Key Results values, including Current Value, lose their displayed decimals (Start Value: 1 / Current Value: 3 / Target Value: 3). Double-clicking on them show the value with decimals. Actual Values and Target Values do not show decimals in the grid.

Alternate scenario, same steps 1/2/3:

1. After creating the new KR, update any value (e.g.: change Start Value to 1.35). All values are still correctly displayed with 2 decimals.
2. Open the Details flyout in the Actual Value or Target Value modules.
3. Modify the KR Start Value again (from the grid, do not touch the flyout) to 1.45.

Expected Results: Key Results Start Value gets updated to 1.45.

Actual Results: Start Value gets updated, but all Key Results values, including Current Value, lose their displayed decimals (Start Value: 1 / Current Value: 2 / Target Value: 3). Double-clicking on them show the value with decimals.

Cause

DE170831.

The Actual/Target Value modules have their own View Options (accessible when clicking on the Expand button when they are opened in the flyout), and these number decimal display options are being used for the Key Results grid (instead of Key Results own number decimal display options) when a value is updated.

Resolution

This issue has been fixed in Clarity 16.4.0.

 

Workaround:

Set the same number decimal settings for the Key Results, Actual Value and Target value. For example, to set to 2 decimals:

1. In the Key Results grid, click on View Options and set the Decimal Display to 0.00.
2. Open the Details flyout.
3. Navigate to the Actual Value module and select Expand.
4. Now click on View Options and set the Decimal Display to 0.00.
5. Repeat Steps 3/4 for Target Value module.
