Reprotect failed on the VM's with error message "Protection group "PG_NAME" contains VMs that are not protected.

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

SRM reprotect failed with the error "Protection group "PG_NAME" contains VMs that are not protected."

Cause

This issue happen when "recovery" task failed for some reason and the user manually registered the VM's to the destination site after the "recovery" task failed.

One the VM's are registered manually, the configuration on the original protected site is not updated for the concerned protection group, specially the replication direction on the protection group. The incorrect "Protected Site" and the "Recovery Site" information is making the "reprotect" operation fail.

Resolution

User need to rectify the mapping on the protection group. The "Protected Site" and the "Recovery Site" information need to be rectified. The user may need to configure mappings individually for each virtual machine in the protection group.
