PAM-CMN-1344 Upgrade Package Authenticity Error during upgrade to 4.2.2

Issue/Introduction

Privileged Access Management (PAM) Admin is attempting to upgrade a PAM Appliance to PAM 4.2.2 and is getting the following error:

PAM-CMN-1344 Problem applying the upgrade package. Details: Error verifying the authenticity of the upgrade package!

when attempting to apply the upgrade patch.

Environment

Upgrading to PAM 4.2.2 

Cause

Using the wrong upgrade patch for the version of PAM you are currently at:

• PAM 4.2.0 and below, if you downloaded the correct CAPAM_4.2.2.p.zip, when extracted it should be called CAPAM_4.2.2_420-.p.bin
• PAM 4.2.1 systems, if you downloaded the correct CAPAM_4.2.2.p.zip, when extracted it should be called CAPAM_4.2.2.p.bin

 

Resolution

Starting in PAM 4.2.2, we now have 2 upgrade patches.  A patch for 4.2.0 and below systems and a patch for systems at 4.2.1 already:

if you attempt to use the wrong patch, you will get the same error message.
