LCM - Compute image recommendations task stuck at 65% in vSphere client

Issue/Introduction

After starting image compliance task from "Cluster > Updates > Image" page, the task hangs and never completes.

• If attempt to cancel task is made, the cancel task hangs at 0%.
• In this condition, the Image page for cluster shows errors and unable to remediate (image below).

Cause

It is possible that the cause of the task stalling/failing to complete is due to an unsupported component within the image's SoftwareSpec.

Resolution

• Reboot the VCSA VM to clear out the stalled tasks.
• View the "Cluster > Updates > Image" page again and proceed with remediation.
• The ESXi hosts should complete patching successfully.

Additional Information

Please review the current image SoftwareSpec (Managing Host and Cluster Lifecycle), for any components of different vendor that are not supported by the hosts within the cluster.
