"Null Project not allowed in this Web Services version." error when Rally automation fails in ConnectALL

Issue/Introduction

When synchronizing a Rally automation in ConnectALL the following errors might be seen

Null Project not allowed in this Web Services version.

If Project has been renamed, then it may include the renamed value here, such as Team

 

Another observed error may be

Could not read: Could not read referenced object null

Cause

This can happen if a project value mapping has been created in Excel and imported as a CSV file into ConnectALL.

Excel will often convert the long object ID values that Rally uses into exponential notation in the #.#####E+## format, which is then passed to the Rally API.  The Rally API is unable to perform any action with that value.

Resolution

Resolve the exponential notation issue in Excel and reimport the CSV file into ConnectALL
