Please answer to all 3 questions related to FDM installation

Environment

All supported FDM releases.

Resolution

FDM is a standalone application used for masking databases and files, it doesn't use the gtrep database.

  • Can I install the FDM in another windows server with same GTREP2 Schema?
    • Yes, FDM doesn't use the gtrep repository, so gtrep isn't a concern.
  • One of the windows servers FDM is already installed. how can I check which Schema used for FDM installation?
    • You can't, because FDM doesn't use the gtrep repository.
  • FDM is installed with GTREP schema in 1 of the windows servers. Now i want re-install the FDM with GTREP2 schema in the same server.
    • No need, since FDM doesn't use the gtrep repository. You can upgrade FDM to a newer release, or uninstall and reinstall. It doesn't impact gtrep at all.

Additional Information

To install FDM you get no prompt for a schema, it does not connect to the GTREP repository.  Portal, Datamaker and Subset all connect to the gtrep repository. However, only the Portal manages the schema version of the gtrep.
