Migrating from the SMG 8380 hardware SMG 8390 hardware

Issue/Introduction

The Messaging Gateway 8380 hardware platform is end of live and cannot update to version 10.9.x.

There is no direct migration path between the two hardware platforms.

Environment

Hardware: 8380

Resolution

Workaround:

1. Create a virtual machine with SMG 10.8.1
2. Migrate existing 8380's SMG 10.8.1 to this newly created SMG virtual machine 
3. Upgrade the SMG virtual machine from 10.8.1 to SMG 10.9.0
4. Then, migrate VM's upgraded SMG 10.9.0 to 8390's pre-loaded SMG 10.9.0
