Issue/Introduction

You are receiving failed Remediate Host tasks very frequently.
Investigating the task you see the following error: 

A general system error occurred: Host '##.##.##.##' is incompatible. A host is incompatible when the image cannot be applied to the host

Cause

A higher version of VMware tools has been previously installed on the ESXI host than the vLCM image allows for.
Verifying in the ESXI hosts log:

Resolution

Follow Option #2 in kb to update the VMware tools component to the version listed in the log : vSphere Lifecycle Manager Image Compliance check fails with Error

Or you can remove the Vmware tools component as recommended by : Edit the vLCM image components
