Renewed License End Date Not Reflecting in vSphere Web Client

Issue/Introduction

You have renewed your license, but the license key end date is not reflecting correctly in the vSphere Web Client; it is showing the old license key's end date.

Environment

Incorrect expiration date on the assets in vSphere Web Client.

In the vSphere Web Client, Under Administration, licensing inventory, the licenses of vSphere and vCenter Server assigned would reflect incorrect end date.

 

 

Resolution

To resolve this issue, Downgrade your license key and then upgrade it. This process will generate a new license key. Refer to Upgrade and Downgrade VMware License Keys

By applying the new license key to the asset in the vSphere Web Client, the correct end date will be displayed.

Note: The new contract must be in effect for the license actions to successfully address the end date discrepancy. Should the contract's commencement date be in the future, it will be necessary to defer any licensing procedures until that date.
