Unable to connect SMTP in Aria Operations, received the error "Test was not successful: Email test error: [Invalid Addresses]"

Issue/Introduction

While configuring an outbound SMTP plugin in Aria Operations, the following error is received when sending a test email:

• Test was not successful: Email test error: [Invalid Addresses]

Environment

Aria Operations 8.x

Cause

Communication between Aria Operations and the SMTP server was being blocked by a firewall configured on the on-premise network

Resolution

The issue resulted from missing IP whitelisting, which is necessary when a firewall is implemented.
