vVol datastore showing incorrect usage on vCenter

Issue/Introduction

• Space usage of the vVol datastore on vCenter UI is showing more than the actual usage by the Virtual machines.
• vCenter UI > vVol datastore >  Monitor > Overview > Performance Overview shows high utilization for 'Other' as in the figure below. 

• This issue is seen with the vVol's presented from the Pure Storage array.

Environment

VMware ESXi 7.x
VMware ESXi 8.x

Cause

This is caused as the Pure Storage is reporting the provisioned capacity (Thick) of the vVols (including Config vVols) to the vCenter server to represent the vVol datastore usage for both default Protocol-EndPoint & custom Protocol-EndPoint.

Resolution

This is not a VMware issue. Please contact the Pure storage support to assist with this issue.
