Issue/Introduction

A PSOD occurs on the host showing a UD Exception 6 in world #### idle(CPU#)

Host will reboot and only stays operational for approximately 5 minutes before crashing again.

Environment

ESXi 8.0.x

Cause

ESXi crashes when attempting to access the specified PCPU in an idle/halt state causing a PSOD. The PCPU will be the same for each event

This indicates that physical CPU belonging to PCPU ## is faulty.

Resolution

Please contact hardware vendor for diagnostic testing and replacement of CPU.

Additional Information

Programmatically disabling and re-enabling the CPU may resolve issues without having to physically replace the hardware. Please consult hardware vendor for steps on this process.
