Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

  • In vCenter Server, the datastore intermittently reports a total capacity of 0B (zero bytes).

  • While executing the df -h command from an SSH session, the following error is reported.

         root@GT:~ ] df -h

VmFileSystem: Slow refresh failed: Unable to get FS Attrs for /vmfs/volumes/66f1#
Error when running esxcli, return status was: 1
        Errors:
Error getting data for filesystem on '/vmfs/volumes/66f1###-d4978###-2e2#-b483510#####': Unable to get FS Attrs for /vmfs/volumes/66f1#,Skipping.

Environment

  • VMware vSphere 7.x
  • VMware vSphere 8.x

Cause

  • The issue is caused by a network misconfiguration related to iSCSI port binding .Target iSCSI ports are in a different broadcast domain and IP subnet.

Resolution

  • iSCSI port binding should be removed from the ESXi hosts to resolve connectivity loss issues and address datastore capacity usage issues.
