Received incomplete recovery when doing planned migration

Issue/Introduction

During planned migration with vSphere Replication , received incomplete recovery and unable to proceed with failover VM.

Environment

vSphere Replication 8.x

vSphere Replication 9.x

Cause

Before the recovered VM to be power on, the 're-do' log of the VM needs to be consolidated into the base disk . Due to the size of the re-do log, the disk consolidation is taking longer than expected. Hence, SRM is reporting the 'incomplete recovery' for recovery plan. The associated VM is showing recovery error .

Go to the 'vSphere Replication' tab in the SRM GUI. The associated VM  should showing as 'inactive' with the 'Disk consolation in process'. Example like : 

 

Resolution

• Refreshing the replication status for the affected VM, until the consolidation is done.
• Re-run the recovery plan, the recovery plan should finish successfully.
