Issue/Introduction

 

Problem: 

They are using LPR with CA Spool to load Word, PDF and PowerPoint files into CA View.  However they are unable to view them in Web Viewer. PDF files are not showing as a PDF Icon. Other distributed files have an unknown icon and appear to be just garbled text.

 

Resolution:

When you use FAM=SAR and FSAR=dbname, you are writing directly to the CA View database as the file is being received.  The View database must allow updates.

Once that was corrected users could access distributed files.
