Issue/Introduction

Question:

I am setting up a process to do a SILENT install of the Autosys R11 SP4 agent. The installer.properties has been created to install to our standards.

How do we generate the hexadecimal number for AES - (32 Characters) off the required password?

In fact, we have a password set for the key_to_agent under AES and I need to know how to convert the password in text format to the hex format to add the installer.properties file. I want to avoid exposing the text password in the silent installer.

Environment:

 WA Agent R11.3 SP4

Answer:

The solution is to install the agent using the hex key that is provided in the installer.properties file.

Then for each operating system,  generate a cryptkey.txt file via keygen and pass in your password/key.

That cryptkey.txt file is then copied across to the agent server along with the setup.bin install file and replaced on the agent's installation directory after the installation and before starting the agent.
