Issue/Introduction

  • Lifecycle manager shows 'compliant' to a higher patch baseline when on a lower version without remediation
  • It does not change after repeated compliance checks

Environment

  • VMware vSphere ESXi 8.0
  • VMware vSphere ESXi 7.0
  • VMware vCenter Server 7.0.x
  • VMware vCenter Server 8.0.x

Cause

The issue stems from Lifecycle Manager's baseline not refreshing correctly post-upgrade.

Resolution

  1. Open the relevant baseline in Lifecycle Manager.

  2. Without making changes, save the baseline again.

  3. Re-trigger the compliance check on the host.

  4. If the host shows as non-compliant, proceed with standard remediation.
