Issue/Introduction

When trying to upgrade PAM to the latest version, the following error occurred and the upgrade would not proceed.

Error: PAM-CMN-1344: Problem applying the upgrade package, Details: Insufficient storage space for successful firmware upgrade

Cause

The filesystem was filled with database backups from the database scheduler.

Resolution

Older database backup files were manually deleted to clear up disk space, allowing the upgrade to continue. Refer to KB397922 - PAM Database Scheduler Not Deleting Local Files for more information about the database scheduler and instructions on how to manually cleanup the backups.

Additional Information

Please refer to the Review Minimum Free Space section of the Upgrade Prerequisites for #.#.# documentation page to determine how much free diskspace is needed for a specific PAM version. The documentation link is for the 4.2.2 version, but can be change by the dropdown in the upper right corner.
