Removing use of VBScript on client computers

Issue/Introduction

You are aware that Microsoft is deprecating VBScript very soon.

There is a need to identify areas in which ITMS uses VBScript and determine if it is possible to replace the use of VBScript with alternative approaches so that functionality will continue to work if VBScript is uninstalled.

Resolution

Starting with our ITMS 8.8 Release, VBScript is no longer used by Symantec Management Agent and plug-ins and replaced by alternate technologies
