ESXi host is disconnected but the option to reconnect the host is grayed out in the vCenter client

Issue/Introduction

The option in the vSphere Client to reconnect or remove an ESXi host is grayed out. 

Cause

The user that is logged into the vSphere Client does not have privileges in vCenter to the ESXi host object.

Resolution

• Review effective permissions for the impacted user account and adjust the permissions/privilege/roles as needed to allow the appropriate rights for reconnect/removal.
